About me:

 I grew up in a household of seven people--my parents and five children. I'm number four of five, and even though my college degree was in Mathematics, writing is an outlet of mine--especially now, being married with 3 pre/teenagers. I allow my brain to run wild, then try to put the scenes on paper.

I like to research my locations for my stories, reading every detail of the quirks of the societies of the different setting, whether it's within the United States or not.

When I can't find a place strange enough, I create one, like in The Unlikely Princess. The island doesn't exist, but I put it smack-dab beside Australia, where I could make it a virtual paradise...except for the odd rules of the society.

Let your imagination run wild sometime and see what you come up with for your ideal 'island'. I think you might be amazed at what you create!
